Today was the scheduled date for me to take the UPCAT. Personally speaking, I WAS UNPREPARED. Bombarded with school activities, projects, papers, etc., I had so little time to prepare myself. I stayed up late and woke up reaaallly early. By the time I arrived at the testing center here in CDO, I was already late. My heart was pounding because I thought they wouldn’t let me enter. Thank God, they opened the gates and led me to a chair. After five hours of being asked what is the displacement, what is the value of X, which is the correct sentence, what is the main idea, I was about to die. Fatigue took over and I was very much tempted to sleep. But I thought of how much I paid just to be a part of the UPCAT examinees. University of the Philippines is my dream school. They say what it takes to pass the UPCAT is U.P. (Utak at Puso). That is true, of course. UP takes only the best. You have to be sufficiently intelligent and dedicated to attaining personal growth. Students who study at UP see education not only a preparation for the future but as a stepping stone for global opportunities. I can’t say how proud and honored I will be if I will pass. I guess, I’ll have to wait and see on February. Wish me luck!
